Deep tissue massage

Deep tissue massage is a very popular slower, stronger massage technique that stimulates deep into muscles and the surrounding tissue. Deep tissue massage will noticeably loosen muscles, elevate pain, and increase mobility – all significant benefits for anyone active or experiencing pain.

If you suffer from conditions such as chronic pain, fibromyalgia, edema, muscle cramping, and even carpal tunnel syndrome you may find significant relief from deep tissue massage. The pressure exerted on different groups of muscle tissue stimulates circulation in areas of pain.

There can be mild to moderate discomfort during the massage as tight muscles are worked. And there can be a day or two of soreness following the deep tissue massage – similar to after you complete a particularly rigorous workout.

But if you are comfortable with a stronger, more focused massage as well as the soreness that may accompany it, deep tissue massage will greatly benefit you. Pregnancy Massage.

Pregnancy massage addresses the special needs of your changing body, during and after pregnancy. Soothing for both mother and baby, it offers these benefits:
  • Helps to improve circulation
  • Relieves stress and pain in neck, shoulders, back and legs
  • May reduce labour time and prenatal and labour complications

  2. Thanks for the great information. For the past few months my wife has been getting deep tissue massages, and I never knew what they were. After reading through this article I think I can safely say that I know what they are, and I'm honestly debating on joining her, haha.

  3. Now, when you say there can be a few days of soreness, following the deep tissue massage. Are you referring to moderate soreness, which may include a bit of relief? Or are you talking about major soreness that deters you from ever getting another deep tissue massage? Also, I like how you say deep tissue massages can help improve circulation because this is what I need.
